A couple of years ago me and my cousin actually considered starting our own line of MMA action figures. We quickly realized that we would not be able to fund such a venture and the idea became a fleeting memory.
Classic Match Ups Series
One of the idea’s that we had that I hope the UFC or Round 5 will take advantage of is a series of classic match ups figures. Basically the figures would come two to a pack and feature some of MMA’s historical match ups.
Match Ups Figures I would like to see:
- Royce Gracie vs Kazushi Sakuraba
- Fedor Emelianenko vs Mirko Filipovic
- Wanderlei Silva vs Chuck Liddell
- Royce Gracie vs Ken Shamrock
- Minotauro Nogueira vs Josh Barnett
What match ups would you like to see if this series ever came to fruition?

Oh my gosh, Don Frye vs Yoshihiro Takayama, I’ve never laughed so hard in my life. That was the funniest fight I have ever seen and definitely worthy of a Match Ups figure set. You could have a picture of the staredown on the front of the card.

The other one that tops my list is;
Randy Couture vs Fedor Emelianenko! I know it hasnt happened yet. But fingers crossed it will! I would definately buy that series of figures.

I would much rather see Fedor vs. Nog for the classic match up series. Nog was the champ in PRIDE and it was taken from him by Fedor, and he has defended the belt ever since then.

I wouldnt say these are classic match ups at all.
griffin vs. bonnar? That was just a TUF fight. Real slug fest and they showed a lot of heart but not that great.
Wand vs. Fujita? What is classic about this?
Hughes vs. Trigg? The only thing classic about this fight is Hughes winning via RNC, TWICE!

IMO the Wand vs. Fujita fight is a classic, Fujita showed great heart and ditermination while Wand shows of his wicked BJJ and predatory knock out power!
Hughes and Trigg 1 and 2 are both great matches, the first for the standing rear naked choke and the second for Hughes recovery from a groin strike to dominate the fight!
I definately agree Fedor and Minotauro is a classic fight also

What about Robbie Lawler vs. Scott Smith The First fight was amazing but they stoped it due to a cut and the seccond was just as good.
