Fedor Emelianenko Figure Pulled From Round 5 MMA Series 4 Lineup

Friday August 7thRound 5 MMA Category

fedorUnfortunately Fedor Emelianenko’s highly anticipated exclusive Round 5 MMA debut Action figure has been pulled from the series 4 lineup.

According to Round 5 MMA’s National Accounts Manager Roger Grossi the figure was pulled due to the fact that the sculpt was not up to a level that they were satisfied with at the time it was scheduled to go into production.

As of now Fedor’s figure has not been rescheduled. Grossi stated that Fedor is still signed on with the company, he just isn’t sure when they will put him back in the lineup.

The updated series 4 lineup now consists of Dan Henderson, Cung Le, Mauricio Rua, Gina Carano and Matt Serra.

We will keep you posted on the new release date for the heavyweight king.

Fake UFC Figures Stirring Up Controversy

Sunday September 14thPhonies Category

Apparently the phony UFC action figure pics posted below have caused quite the storm. According to Creative Loafing’s MMA blog “Full Contact Talk,” the phony figures were used as a hoax on certain MMA websites.

Since then a lot of sites have taken down the phony figs. I’m sure Dana White is on a tear as we speak scouring the web for every last shot of his phony figure. Rogan meanwhile is probably laughing his ass off. Truth be told, the UFC should take notes and use some of the ideas for accessories and what not.

If they were on sale, they would be flying off the shelves. The UFC’s prototype on the other hand, doesn’t resemble Dana White in the slightest. That being said, prototypes are far from the finished product.

I personally don’t think they were created with the intention of misleading fans. I think someone just posted the pics in a forum, someone thought they were real and the story took off. It’s amazing anybody even fell for it, I mean have you looked at the figures heads.

What are your thoughts on the whole situation?

Note: MMAActionFigures does not endores the phony figures and has stated from the beginning that the figures were fake.

UFC “Talking” Dana White Figure

Saturday September 13thPhonies Category

I ran into some truly amazing phony UFC figure pics. The first of the three is of a “talking” Dana White figure complete with Jenna Jameson repellant and “Tito Was My Bitch” t-shirt.

The figure says 17 different combinations of profanity including these 5 popular phrases:

  • I “F***ing Rule!
  • I built this F***ing company from the ground up
  • Randy is F***ing confused
  • Suck my F***ing balls Tito
  • Tom Atencio’s a F***ing joke

My favorite accessory is Chuck Liddell’s balls although the extra supply of Interim Championship belts is pretty hilarious.

If these were for sale I would buy all of them. Joe Rogan is up next. I need 17 profane sayings for White so let me hear what you got.

Exclusive Randy Couture Interview

Thursday August 7thInterviews Category

I was fortunate enough to get an interview with Randy Couture following his weekend at the San Diego 2008 Comic Con where he was promoting his new exclusive EE Round 5 figure.

I got to ask him some questions regarding his new figure including confirmation on the fourth Series 2 figure.

Enjoy!

MMA Action Figures: First off, what does it feel like to have your own action figure?

Randy Couture: Like a lot of things going on in my life right now it is a little surreal to have an action figure on the market and book in the top 20.  like the first time I drove out to AC and saw my mug on a billboard there’s something weird about it.

MMA Action Figures: Were you into action figures as a kid, and if so what were you favorites?

Randy Couture: I was into some action figures.  Like every kid I had some GI Joes.  I had some Western Action figures with Geronamo and cowboys and Indians all moveable action figures.

MMA Action Figures: How were you involved in the process of making the figures?

Randy Couture: I got to pick or approve the colors and the pose and basically kind of give final approval on the artwork that came back for the prototype.

MMA Action Figures: I know you were at Comic Con this past weekend in San Diego promoting the figures. What was that like? Was it the first Comic Con you have been to?

Randy Couture: My first Comic Con. It was a little overwhelming.  A 130,000 people are a lot of people.  I bought a turn of the century German movie poster when I was there.  It was a movie poster of the first movie with sound in Germany about a tiger hunt.

MMA Action Figures: I know that Series 2 of Round 5’s MMA figures include Rich Franklin, Sean Sherk, and Anderson Silva. Can you tell us who the fourth figure is going to be….come on? If not can you give us a hint?

Randy Couture: The fourth action figure in Series 2 is Wanderlei Silva.

MMA Action Figures: You seem to have a knack for calling fights, main events in particular. Who is going to win GSP vs Fitch at UFC 87?

Randy Couture: I like St-Pierre in that fight.  I think Fitch is great.  His wrestling is really good but I don’t see anyone keeping up with Georges right now.

MMA Action Figures: Affliction’s first event seemed to have went pretty well.
What did you think about it?

Randy Couture: I thought it was a great first outing.  We haven’t seen that many quality heavyweights on one card since the old Pride Grand Prix’s.

MMA Action Figures: I know things are “xtremely” busy right now with your book tour and movie. How often do you get to train with all of that going on?

Randy Couture: Training has been a little sketchy the last couple of months but I squeeze it in where I can.

MMA Action Figures: How do you like acting? is that something you would like to pursue more in the future?

Randy Couture: I’m enjoying the roles I’m getting to play now.  I hope to continue down that road.

MMA Action Figures: I saved the best for last of course. How many fights are left in “The Natural” and when are we going to have the pleasure of seeing you fight again?

Randy Couture: I’ll take it one fight at a time and a lot of that depends on the UFC at this point.
